Ed Fur's Dreams Ed Fur's Dreams is a humourous webcomic featuring the strange and funny characters from the dreams of Ed Fur. New strips are added weekly (or at least as often as possible)

Jul 04, 2008.

It has been quite a while since one of Ed's dreams have been added to the site because things have been gearing up for the big 100th dream which is coming very soon. Some exciting things are in the works to celebrate this milestone. There could possibly be parades, fireworks, dancing girls, big prizes, revolutionary innovations, flying dinosaurs, and more. There probably won't be any of those things, but you are all welcome to organize your own parades, or at least put on a cheesy party hat and blow a noise maker.

But in the meantime, you can check out Ed's latest dream featuring someone who doesn't think much of the 100th dream milestone: EFD #99 - Number's Don't Mean Anything.

Back and better than ever!

OK, Ed Fur's Dreams might not actually be better than ever, but it is at least back after a bit of a break with EFD #98 - Revenge Like That. Revenge is always funny, especially really bloody revenge, so how could you not love Ed's latest dream with a title like that (even if Ed's Dreams hardly ever actually have any action in them)

In even bigger news, Ed has almost reached 100 dreams, and I'm sure something exciting will happen for such a big event, I'm not sure what it will be just yet, but whatever it is, you won't want to miss it. In fact, you might not want to leave your computer or do anything else until the 100th dream to make sure you don't miss it. It would probably be a good idea to buy a few creates of bottled water and adult diapers. If you can manage to hold your breath for a couple weeks, that would be even better.

Whether you're just getting over the 'aftereffects' of St. Patrick's Day, or you are gearing up for Easter, Ed's latest dream will have something for you. If on the other hand, the only thing that gets you excited is seeing hairless cats fight an army of red ants, well, you're going to be disappointed once again. But don't give up hope, those ant fighting cats might show up some day.

In the meantime, why not give those loveable carrots a chance, and check out what they have to say about Easter eggs and green beer. EFD #96

It has been a little while since any new characters have shown up in Ed's dreams, so I'm sure you are all excited to see them. I won't give anything away, but for those of you that love traffic cones (or pylons as some of us like to call them), you are in for a real treat. And what's not to love about a pylon. They're orange, and cone shaped, and help prevent people from driving into things that they shouldn't. But that's not all, they also make lovely hats, or shoes if you happen to have really strange feet.

Of course, Ed wouldn't dream about anything as strange as pylon shoes, but why not go find out what is on Ed's mind. Everyone needs to Slow Down

Now that Ed has gotten that out of his system, he should be back up to full speed, cranking out dreams on a regular basis.

Hammer has been away meditating and planning for a long time, but now he's back and is once again scheming to get Nail. You can read all about Ed's latest dream here.

For those of you who missed any of Hammer & Nails previous encounters, go check them out now:
#7 - Pound you Down
#16 - Wooden Park Bench
#28 - Cork Factory

Now that you're all caught up on Hammer & Nail, why not go out and do some hammering. I hear that performing random acts of carpentry is all the rage nowadays.

Things are finally settling down after the holiday season, and Ed is finally getting back to dreaming. So EFD should be back to updating regularly again, or at least as regularly as possible.

Starting with EFD #91 - Made out of Marble The giant rock is back in his first appearance since EFD #39 and I'm sure you're all excited to see him return, because nothing says funny like a giant rock.

Things are always busy this time of year, so there haven't been many new dreams uploaded, but here's one for all of you enjoying the snow out there. EFD 89 - Your Snowballs

I don't want to make any promises, because I know I often fall behind on some of the updates to the site (I'm still blaming those gremlins), but there will hopefully be at least two more new dreams before the end of the month (or as I like to call it, the end of the year).

Of course, December gremlins are some of the worst. I think all the lights send them into some kind of psychotic rage, plus they're usually all hopped up on candy canes, so they may end up causing me to miss a few more updates.

I'm sure most of you are also busy this time of year, so you probably don't have time to be reading any silly comic strips anyway. Things should get back to normal next year, and hopefully you will all come back and enjoy more of Ed's wacky dreams.

It's all about a busfull. A busfull of what you ask? Well, you'll have to read Ed Fur's latest dream to find out.

And if you've missed any of their other shenanigans in the past, you can read more of those spring-loading, hotdog loving guys in the following dreams:
Hotdog Mess Any Raspberry Sauce Left You and Your Springs

And keep coming back in December for all the Holiday fun, or possibly some nonsensical dream that has nothing to do with any holiday, well, unless you consider Canned Tuna Day a real holiday. But either way I'm sure it will be worth your effort to come back and check it out. Assuming of course that you have figured out a way to surf the web without exerting any effort.

Ed's latest dream is now up.

Those of you who are literate will probably realize that this dream was supposed to be added to the site on Halloween. But as I'm sure many of you know, Halloween can be a hectic time. Suddenly I found myself waking up from a sugar high and it's almost a week later. But many of you are probably still enjoying some Halloween treats, so why not give you one more.

Check out Ed's latest dream, It's Ed, but Evil.

There will be at least one more dream before the end of Halloween month, so keep an eye out for that. Unless of course you've only got one eye, cause then you would probably need that eye to see where you are going. But at least you would probably have a cool eye patch, and with an eye patch you can frighten people into checking this site for you, and then you wouldn't need to keep an eye out. So it all works out in the end.

Everyone knows vampire bats are always good for a laugh. So that's why this weeks dream features just that -- a vampire bat with a huge appetite. Need I say more. Go check it out for yourself here

That's all for now, but come back next week for another scary dream. In fact all the dreams this month are going to be so scary that I should change the name of the comic to Ed Fur's Nightmares. But then I would have to change the name back in November, and it would cause all sorts of confusion (not to mention the fact that I'm totally lying about the dreams being scary, they aren't really scary at all. Some people would say that they aren't funny either, but that's a whole other issue that we're not going to talk about now). So maybe it's best if I just leave the name as it is, but you should still come back to read them anyway, because everyone loves Halloween dreams (well, except for those people that we aren't talking about).

It's Halloween Month, and you know what that means -- it's time for the ghost to return. Since it's been a while since the ghost has been featured in Ed Fur's Dreams, I thought it might be nice for me to list his previous appearances for those of you that may have missed them. So here are the previous dreams that the ghost has appeared in:

Boo!
Boots!
Still Haunting Me
It could Get a Little Wet

And here is the newest dream Never Want to Eat Sardines

Since it is Halloween month, there will be more Halloween themed dreams to come. So those of you who like Halloween (which should include everyone who isn't crazy) should be happy, not to mention, those of you who were sick of all the dreams about marshmallows.

I know most of you that read my last post have been starving for more marshmallow goodness, and I know you are probably sick of all the delays with EFD, but I think I've managed to get those disruptive gremlins under control, and I should be able to bring you a lot more EFD at a much faster rate.

My obsession with marshmallows is just getting going, so if you're like me then you're gonna enjoy the comic over the next little while. If you hate marshmallows, then you probably aren't going to like the comic for a while, but then again, if you hate marshmallows, you really should just go check yourself in somewhere where you can get some help, because there is clearly something wrong with you.

So all you marshmallow haters can just pack up and head out for some treatment right now. And don't forgot to pack an apple corer, because I've heard that you don't want to find yourself in a treatment center without an apple corer.

For the rest of you -- 'normal' people -- that love marshmallows, go read the latest EFD.

My break from the site was a little longer than I had planned, but now I'm fully recharged and ready to take Ed Fur's Dreams, and the rest of Transcendental Stage, to a whole new level. What will this new level be like? Well, I have no idea, but it will probably involve hair-raising adventures, gut-busting laughter, and mind-blowing revelations, or possibly just a new inexplicable obsession with marshmallows.

And if you're like me, you're probably thinking 'marshmallows -- now you're talking', and if that's the case, then you're in luck. I won't give anything more away, but you should definitely check out the latest EFD strip.

And if for some sick reason your life hasn't been taken over by an all-consuming fascination with marshmallows, such that the mere mention of them fuels an uncontrollable urge to click on links, then check out the link anyway; it's not like it'll do you any harm (or will it? Dun-Dun-Duhhhhhh!)

I'm going to be away for a while, so the next EFD comic probably won't be on the site for at least two weeks. Fortunately, I've just added EFD #78.

So just read it really slowly, and you won't even notice that absence of updates.

I'm always trying to come up with new ways to make Ed Fur's Dreams more enjoyable to read. The obvious thing would be to make them funny, because apparently people like comic strips that are funny, but I never like to do the obvious (plus I gave up on trying to make EFD funny a long time ago). So instead of going for funny, I decided to do the next best thing -- write a strip about purees. It's not just for babies and the elderly anymore, everyone loves to eat puree. It's a craze that is sweeping the globe. People are pureeing everything they can get their hands on.

Sure, this might all seem like a huge lie to anyone reading this post now, but trust me, anyone who reads this post 8 years from now will think that it is amazingly accurate and insightful. Assuming I can get that mind control device to work in the next 8 years. Otherwise you should probably just forget everything you have just read; possibly through the use of hypnosis. It's just easier for you to have your memory permanently erased than it is for me to go back and delete the previous paragraph.

So if you love puree (and who doesn't), then check out the latest EFD here

And keep checking back for all the latest and greatest fads to be represented in EFD, because EFD has got it's finger on the pulse of popular culture (at least I think that's the pulse).

That's right, the next EFD comic is up. It's a little late (well, actually, it's a lot late), but it has a pickle in it, so that has to count for something.

So here it is: EFD #74

EFD #72 - Desire isn't Enough is up now.

It's a little late, but in my defense, it takes time to figure out how to get a generic grey obstacle to use an electric cattle prod -- you'll see what I'm talking about when you read the comic.

I've just uploaded EFD #71 (which you can read here) and I've decided it is time that I started putting some more effort into increasing the readership of Ed Fur's Dreams.

As usual, I've been busy with many other things, and any time I have had to work on EFD has been used to try to keep to my promise of getting a new strip up every week, so I haven't had time to get out there and promote the strip. If anyone is actually reading this, and wants to help, please feel free to tell everyone you know to check out the site.

If you want to help further, you live in a large city, and you have access to a sandwich board, then you could try writing a catchy slogan on the sandwich board and standing near a busy intersection (not in the intersection, because getting hit by cars hurts). I hear sandwich boards are all the rage right now (or maybe that was in the 20s, but either way, they look like fun). I could give you a catchy slogan to use, but what would be the fun in that.

If you would like to help, but instead of having a sandwich board, you have lots of money, and not nearly enough T-shirts, then might I suggest you check out the shop. More stuff will be added to the shop in the future, but I would be happy to consider taking any requests you might have for EFD related items.

If on the other hand, you are secretly hoping that Ed Fur's Dreams will fail miserably, then you could always try telling everyone you know not to check out the site, and see if that works.

Anyway, that is all for now. I've got to go figure out some other non-sandwich board related ways to promote EFD.

In my last post, I mentioned that I was going to commit to making sure EFD was updated at least once a week. Well, I almost managed it, and I think that counts for something. Hopefully I can do an even better job in the future. I might still slip once in a while, but I'm really going to try to stick to it.

So here's the next strip: EFD #68. It's a little late, but for those of you waiting to see the Salt and Pepper shakers again, hopefully it will have been worth the wait.

I know I keep saying that EFD will get back to regular updates, and then it seems to go longer and longer between new strips. Well, just because you keep failing at something doesn't mean you should stop trying (right?), so once again, I'm going to tell all you wonderful EFD fans (and when I say fans, I mean all those people who accidentally wound up on this page when looking for something else) that EFD is definitely going to get updated at least once a week from now on.

I'm not going to go so far as to set a specific day of the week for updates (let's not get crazy here), but I am going to officially declare today as the start of the weekly EFD update schedule. Check back next week for my excuse as to what went wrong this time.

In the meantime go read today's strip: EFD #61 - Any Raspberry Sauce Left

The Autumn Leaves are back, and have decided that it's Time to Migrate.

I've also been adding a lot of new items to the Ed Fur's Dreams section of the shop. And there is going to be even more added over the next few days. So if you're looking for some holiday gifts, but have a fear of being trampled in a crowded mall, then why not check out the shop for some fun gift ideas.

It's October (a.k.a. Halloween month) and so all this month Ed's dreams have been filled with Ghosts, Zombies, and Vampires. And Ed's going to have to put up with it for a little while longer, because there are still a few Halloween dreams left to be had before the end of the month.

I've been so busy working on the new look for the site (which is finally done now ;D) that I've been falling behind on adding new EFD strips. But I'm going to do my best to regularly update EFD, even though I have a lot of other things to catch up on (I'm always trying to do too many things at the same time).

And while I've got your attention, I'd like to invite you to visit the forum, where you can discuss Ed Fur's Dreams (or any other part of this site), ask questions, or give your comments. The forum is brand new, so there aren't many people to discuss with, but someone has to be first.
